This workshop is to support those who support others. If you are a healing arts practitioner – therapist, psychoanalyst, medicine worker, breathworker, cranial sacral therapist, Reiki practitioner, acupuncturist, etc. – join us for this day of self-care, healing, and growth.
Breathwork is an experiential method of self-exploration and psychospiritual healing. It induces deep “holotropic” (moving toward wholeness) states of consciousness using conscious connected breathing, carefully curated music, and special bodywork that helps to release bioenergetic and emotional blocks. The modality combines and integrates elements from modern consciousness research, depth psychology, transpersonal psychology, Eastern spiritual philosophies, shamanism and other native healing practices to utilize the extraordinary healing power of holotropic states. Breathwork provides access to biographical, perinatal, and transpersonal domains of the unconscious and opens a psychospiritual pathway to healing and spiritual evolution. The process of self-exploration in holotropic states of consciousness is spontaneous and autonomous and is governed by the inner healing intelligence that resides in each of us.
The workshop will be conducted using protocols originally developed by Stan and Christina Grof. During this day-long experience, you will pair with another participant. One of you will serve as a sitter and one as a breather in the morning session, and you will switch in the afternoon. Following the breathing, you will be invited to capture the essence of your experience by creating a mandala, or, if you prefer, through some other creative means. The day will end with a sharing circle.
